The purpose of the Edmonton Science Outreach Network is to increase science literacy. Students and educators learn about science from experts in the scientific community who volunteer their time to deliver the Classroom Speakers Program, Ask a Scientist, Science Immersion Workshops and In School PD. They are committed to the idea that interactive hands-on science, taught by people who love science and have made a career of science, is the best way to bring science to life. Their goal is to inspire a life-long interest in science in children and youth, by introducing them to a world of science that is engaging and exciting and to encourage more students to pursue a career in science and technology. Thanks to the commitment of their volunteers they are pleased to offer many of their programs free of charge.
