The Land and Forest Division (LFD) of Alberta Sustainable Resource Development (ASRD) is responsible for the management of forested public lands in Alberta under the Forests Act (Chapter F-22) and the Public Lands Act (Chapter P-40). The LFD monitors compliance with these Acts and their associated Regulations through a series of regularly scheduled and random audits as well as 'field checks' and by self-reporting disposition holders. Forest Management Branch of LFD is responsible for establishing auditing protocols which address monitoring requirements. These activities are fundamental to the proper management of Crown land by all land users.
