Summary and Guideline for the Edmonton and Calgary Transport/Utility Corridors

This summary and guideline provides a brief history of the Transportation/Utility Corridors (TUCS) and a description of the legislative mandate for the program. It gives an overview of the roles of TUC stakeholders and outlines how to obtain authorization to use TUC land. Authorization may include a Ministerial Consent from AEP for activity or land use anywhere in the TUCS and an approval from APWSS to occupy Crown land in the TUCs. The information in this summary and guideline will assist utility companies, municipalities, landowners, developers, provincial government agencies and consultants in understanding the TUC program. This document will assist users who are applying (or deciding whether to apply) for the necessary approvals to develop within or adjacent to the Edmonton or Calgary TUCS.
